Frequently asked questions

Why should I invest in the Fixed Income Market (Bonds and Debentures)?
Bond is a fixed-income investment option that can aid investors to get fixed returns as high as 12% per annum. Investments in Bonds & Debentures are more reliable and rewarding than other existing options e.g. Bank FDs and Mutual funds for growing money steadily.

By investing in bonds, investors can get the benefit of low risk (for AAA to A rated Bonds), Capital appreciation, Fixed regular income, Tax-free income, Saving capital gain tax, etc.

GoldenPi, the largest and #1 online bond platform, gives you access to the Bonds & Debentures that were earlier only accessible to large Corporates, Family Offices, or HNIs.
What is the process of investment through GoldenPi?
The investment process at GoldenPi begins with online KYC (Know Your Customer) to verify the investor’s identity. All the documents submitted by an investor will be processed on time to ensure the investor has a smooth and hassle-free experience throughout. After KYC is completed, investment in Bonds & Debentures requires the investor to transfer the investment amount to ICCL (Indian Clearing Corporation) and on confirmation of the funds, the Bond units will be transferred to the investor's Demat Account.
Are there any risks associated with bond investment?
Though Bonds fall into the category of low-risk securities similar to Bank FDs, but investors should be aware of the below mentioned Risk factors:

Default risk: The capital loss that an investor incurs when the Bond issuer defaults (fail to return Principal amount or Interest payments or both).
Liquidity risk: This risk comes into the picture only when an investor wants to sell a bond before its maturity. The investor might not get an appropriate buyer or might need to sell the bond at discount, hence incurring a capital loss.
Interest-rate risk: If the sovereign interest rate increases, Bonds' price decreases. At that time, if the investor wants to sell a bond, he/she will incur a capital loss. However, the flip side is that, if the sovereign interest rate decreases, Bonds' price increases. At that time, if the investor wants to sell a bond, he/she will incur a capital gain.
What are the documents required to invest in bonds & debentures? Explain the KYC process.
